About Us


MISSION – Main Stage West provides professional quality live theater in an intimate setting, at affordable prices to the residents of Sebastopol and the surrounding region; community involvement in the process of artistic creation; and educational opportunities for children and adults.


Main Stage West and its parent corporation, PACT (Performing Artists Coalition for Theater), were founded in April 2011 by a group of veteran and emerging performing and visual artists.  It’s long term goals are to widen the impact and improve the quality of professional performing arts in the North Bay, to revitalize the theater space at 104 North Main Street, and provide a vital meeting place for professional performing artists both to build and showcase theatrical and musical performances in an intimate dialogue with the residents of Sebastopol and the North Bay.

Elizabeth Craven (founding Artistic Director) and Keith Baker (founding Managing Artistic Director) ran the theater from April 2011 until October of 2013, when Keith stepped aside to pursue a full-time teaching career. In November 2013, Sheri Lee Miller took over as interim Managing Director until the hiring of Rick Eldredge in February 2014. In September 2015, Ilana Niernberger was hired as the current Managing Director.

Since its inception, Main Stage West has produced thirty-eight plays (six World Premieres), fifteen musical concerts, five special events, three summer productions for youth and we played to a total of 20,000 people.

Main Stage West operates on a Bay Area Theater Contract (MBAT1) with Actors Equity Association, the union of actors and stage managers, USA.

Main Stage West is a 501c3 Non-Profit Charitable organization under the official name: Performing Artists Coalition for Theater, Inc. DBA Main Stage West
